Built in 2001, our Saint John-based construction shop offers 1,860 square-metres (20,000 square-feet) of indoor workspace and is equipped for large and small platework fabrication. The facility's main doors are 9.75 metres (32 feet) high and 11.58 metres (38 feet) wide.
We have a total installed lifting capacity of 50 tonnes, which is supplemented by a 30-tonne mobile crane, used both inside and outside. There are two bays in our indoor facility; the high bay has two 20-tonne crane hooks, with a 12.2-metre (40 feet) drop, while the low bay has a 10-tonne hook and 8.5-metre (28 feet) of clear drop space.
There is a vast array of welding units for welding carbon or stainless steel in our shop. We have vast experience and certification in Shield Metal Arc Welding, Flux Core Arc Welding and Submerged Arc Welding processes. We are also certified to the Canadian Standards Association W47.1 division 2.1.
LMC/QUALMEC has also developed a network of fabrication capabilities and strong business relationships with several fabrication companies as well as major process and energy equipment designer/suppliers in heavy industry.
In addition to fabrication, we also offer design services, based on customer specifications. LMC/QUALMEC specializes in custom fabrication and strives to be responsive to our clients' needs.
